Crime News: Police have arrested 11 people including notorious criminal Vijay Masih in a major operation after a police party was attacked during a raid in a local high valley. The accused, armed with rods and kirpans, tried to resist the arrest, but the police, acting sternly, finally arrested them.
The arrested persons include eight women and three men. Their names are Tania, wife of Vijay Masih; Pasho, wife of Joji Masih; Kambo, Kala’s wife; Hina, wife of Saba; Meera, wife of Ravi; Shiva’s wife Kavita; Barkha, consort of Shani; Sonia alias Monica, daughter of Joji Masih; Shani, Bhole’s son and Saba, Chaman Lal’s son are included.
This operation has been carried out by Inspector Sanjeev Kapoor with his police team under the supervision of DSP Phillaur Sarwan Singh Ball. The search was conducted after receiving reliable information about the presence of wanted accused Vijay Masih at the residence of the police. When the police came, they were strongly opposed by Masih’s family and friends and they attacked the police party with sharp weapons.
Meanwhile, Christ tried to escape by jumping from the roof and was injured. Four police personnel were slightly injured during the clash. Despite the incident, the police took immediate action and arrested the accused. The police have seized the rod and kirpan used in the incident. In this regard, a case has been registered under various sections including 109, 132, 121 (1), 324 (4) and 191 (3) at Phillaur police station. A separate case of attempted murder has been registered against the family members of the accused.
According to the police, Vijay Masih is a habitual criminal against whom 20 cases have been registered, including multiple charges of premeditated murder, possession of illegal arms, smuggling of illicit liquor and violation of the NDPS Act. In addition, many residents of this area have a history of violent behavior, with 5-7 cases booked against them for such crimes. The arrested accused will be produced in the local court and remanded for further investigation.
