7.5 lakh disabled people got benefits

He said that, 50 per cent concession in fare is being given to disabled persons in Punjab Roadways and PRTC buses and more than 7.5 lakh disabled persons were benefited at a cost of Rs 2.19 crore in the year 2023-24. In the current financial year 2024-25, financial assistance of Rs 278.17 crore was provided to 265,694 disabled persons under the State Pension Scheme. To promote education, financial assistance of Rs 3.37 crore was given in the form of scholarships to 12,607 disabled persons.
