Bribe taker forest guard with vigilance team.
In Mansa, Punjab Vigilance Bureau has arrested a guard posted in the Forest Department on charges of taking a bribe of Rs 2500. Vigilance Bureau said that the employee was arrested on the complaint of Gurpreet Singh, resident of Khokhar Road.

The complainant had told the Vigilance Bureau that he earns his living by driving a machinery cart. He saw a piece of wood on the roadside and loaded it into his cart. The complainant further said that on the way, the forest guard caught him for stealing wood and demanded a bribe of Rs 5000 for not taking action.
According to the complaint, the deal was finalized for Rs 4,000 and the employee had already taken the first installment of Rs 1,400. Now he was demanding the remaining amount. After preliminary investigation of this complaint, the Vigilance Bureau team laid a trap. The accused forest guard was arrested red-handed while accepting the remaining bribe amount of Rs 1100 from the complainant in the presence of two government witnesses.
In this regard, a case has been registered under the Anti-Corruption Act at Bathinda Range police station of Vigilance Bureau. The accused will be produced in the court tomorrow and further investigation into the case is underway.
