Subhash Ghai in ICU: Eminent filmmaker Subhash Ghai was admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Bandra today after complaining of difficulty in speaking and memory loss. It is learned that he is in ICU. He was admitted to the ICU under the care of Dr. Rohit Deshpande. On the other hand, sources said that his condition is stable and he went to the hospital for a routine check-up. It may be mentioned that Subhash Ghai (79) started his career in Bollywood as an actor. He acted in films like ‘Takdeer’ and ‘Aradhana’ and later did more films but did not get much success as an actor after which he started his career as a director.
His first film as a director was ‘Kalicharan’ in which Shatrughan Sinha played the lead role. This film was a success and Subhash Ghai directed many popular films.
He directed several hit films in the 1980s and 1990s, including ‘Vidhata’, ‘Karma’ and ‘Saudagar’. He received the Filmfare Award for Best Director for ‘Saudagar’. Subhash Ghai cast Jackie Shroff as an actor in the film ‘Hero’ which became a blockbuster film.
