Businessman Sunil Jain (57) was shot dead by two unidentified assailants on a motorcycle this morning in Farsh Bazar area of Shahdara district of Delhi. In another incident, one person died and two others were injured due to stabbing in Gobindpuri area. On the other hand, political corruption has intensified over the case of two murders.
A senior police officer said that Sunil Jain was returning from the Yamuna Sports Complex when two unidentified men on a motorcycle opened fire on him. According to a police official, the assailants opened fire on Jain when he was going to a crowded area. Jain ran a furniture business. The local police have confirmed the incident and said that raids are being conducted to identify and arrest the attackers.
According to information, in another incident, a dispute over the cleaning of a shared toilet turned violent in Govindpuri, in which one person died and two were injured. During the altercation, Sudhir, his brother Prem and their friend Sagar were attacked. Sudhir died due to stab wounds on his chest, face and head, while the other two are undergoing treatment at AIIMS.
The police have detained five suspects including a minor in this case. The accused have been identified as Bhikam Singh, his wife Meena and their sons Sanjay (20), Rahul (18) and a minor. Bhikam works at a building material shop in the area.
Union Home Minister failed to maintain law and order in Delhi: Kejriwal
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has accused Union Home Minister Amit Shah of failing to maintain law and order in Delhi over the businessman’s murder. Kejriwal said in a post on ‘X’, “Amit Shah has ruined Delhi. The city has become ungovernable under them. BJP is failing to stop criminal activities. People should stand up together. Raise your voice.” AAP leader Saurabh Bhardwaj claimed that the assailants fired six to seven bullets at Jain.
In his post on X, Bharadwaj termed Delhi as the ‘crime capital’ and blasted the Modi government for the failure of law and order. He said in the post, “Crime capital- Goons shot at Sanjay Jain, a merchant of utensils in Shahdara district. The attackers fired 6 to 7 bullets and all the bullets hit Sanjay Jain.”
