Adampur police arrested the migrant laborer on the charge of murder and recovered the weapon used in the incident. The accused has been identified as Ramray Champia, a resident of Boktoli Kebra, Goelkera, Jharkhand.
Senior Police Captain Harkamal Preet Singh Khakh said that on the night of December 15, migrant laborer Anand Guria (60), a resident of Sundergarh (Orissa), was murdered in the haveli of Mahdipur village. Acting on receiving the information, the team led by Inspector Ravinderpal Singh SHO Adampur under the supervision of DSP Kulwant Singh Sub-Division Adampur reached the spot and started investigation. Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim and the accused Ramrai had consumed alcohol together. An argument took place between the two over money due to which the accused attacked him with an iron rod, resulting in his death.
A case has been registered in Adampur police station. During the investigation, the police arrested Ramroy Champia and on his identification, the murder weapon (iron rod) and other evidences were recovered. SSP Khakh reiterated that Jalandhar Rural Police is committed to deliver speedy justice and ensure the safety of all residents. Criminal activities will not be spared.
