Fazilka MLA Narendra Pal Savana said that the Fazilka War Memorial, adjacent to the India-Pakistan border area of Fazilka, is where the mausoleum of 47 martyred soldiers of the 3rd Assam Regiment, who were martyred during the 1971 India-Pakistan war, has been built. For the renewal of which he was contacted by the officials of Fazilka War Memorial Welfare Society.
On which he has issued a grant of about Rs 6 lakh. Although its foundation stone has been laid by him, he has claimed that despite this, if he needs more grant, that too will be issued.

Demand for renovation of the mausoleum
Fazilka War Memorial Welfare Society President Umesh Kumar said that the mausoleum of these martyrs is being looked after by his committee, and now there is a need that the photographs of these martyred soldiers should also be placed in a museum. The mausoleum of the martyrs should be renovated. For this today the MLA has laid the foundation stone.
