The collision took place between Daniel Sam and Cameron Bancroft in a Big Bash League match between Sydney Thunders and Perth Scorchers. While the Perth Scorcher team was batting, Daniel Sam and Bancroft collided while trying to take a catch. The accident happened in the 16th over. After this the game had to be stopped for some time.
Daniel Sam and Cameron Bancroft were rushed to hospital in critical condition. The Big Bash League has informed on social media that the condition of both is out of danger. Both are conscious and talking.

Cooper Connolly’s catch was fatal

The ball went into the air and Daniel Sam and Cameron Bancroft raced to catch it. Both had their eyes fixed on the ball and could not see that the other fielder was also trying to take the catch.
