In a road accident on the Moga-Amritsar main road here last night, a woman passenger in a car was killed and five people, including three children, were injured. All these injured have been admitted to the private hospital of Kot Ise Khan. According to the information received last night at around 8 o’clock, a family from the nearby village of Bogewala was returning to the village in their car (PB 08CC 5278) after attending the wedding ceremony of Makhu. When his car reached near the police post near village Baghelewala, it collided with a tractor trolley full of timber going ahead. The collision was so severe that the car was badly damaged. After the accident, the tractor driver escaped from the spot. The injured were pulled out of the car by the people of nearby houses after a struggle. Car rider Simranjit Kaur (32) died on the spot. The car driver Manpreet Singh, his elderly mother and three children have been admitted to Kot Ise Khan Private Hospital in an injured condition. Anwar Masih, in-charge of Baghelewala police station, said that they are investigating the whole matter. Action will be taken based on the statements of the injured.
