In Abohar today, thieves cut open a woman’s purse and stole cash and jewelery worth thousands of rupees. The victim had come to Sadar Bazaar behind the bus stand to buy goods. Woman Amarjeet Kaur, a resident of Dungri, Ludhiana, told that her father, a resident of Abohar, passed away on December 4.

She told that today she along with her two sisters came to the market for shopping in a car and at around 4 pm, they stopped their car outside the main post office and from there all three of them walked on foot to the shoe shop in the street near the bus stand. . After some time, when she bought the goods and started paying to the shopkeeper, she came to know that her bag was cut and cash worth about Rs 25,000 and about 10 tola gold jewelery were missing from the bag.

The victim became suspicious of the woman sitting with him. Amarjeet Kaur told that two other women also came and sat with her in the shop, who also had a child with them. She bought shoes from the shop and left. There is a possibility that the said women may have stolen the cash and jewelery by making a cut in the bag. As soon as the information was received, SI Bhupendra Singh along with the police team reached the spot and after getting information about the incident, started investigating the matter.

He said that all the CCTV cameras installed between the main post office and the shop are being checked. So that it can be known from where those two women had come after them.
