At least 10 people were killed and around a dozen injured in separate road accidents in Uttar Pradesh’s Pilibhit and Chitrakoot districts early on Friday. Information In Ansar Pilibhit, a car carrying 11 people collided with a tree in an area under Neoria police station, resulting in the death of five passengers.
A senior police officer said that some people from Uttarakhand’s Khatima had come here to attend a wedding. They were returning with 11 people in a Maruti Ertiga car. The car lost balance and hit a tree. He said that all possible medical care is being provided to the injured. In Chitrakoot, Superintendent of Police Arun Kumar Singh said that five people died due to a head-on collision between a Mahindra Bolero and a truck. Singh said that the incident took place at 5.30 am in Raipura police station area.
There were 11 people on board the Bolero, out of which five people have died so far, while the rest are undergoing local treatment. They are being referred to the district hospital for better treatment. The police said that legal action has been initiated regarding both the incidents. News-Patiala
