State Education and Panchayati Raj Minister Madan Dilawar of Rajasthan has announced the education Sanjeevani Yojana. Children from class 1 to 5 will get its benefit. This announcement was made on Wednesday during an event being held at the Residency Girls Higher Secondary School in Udaipur.

This is the first such scheme in the state. In this, Wonder Cement, Zurich Kotak General Insurance, SBI and SME Insurance Promotion Council are supporting the Government. Under this, about 1.3 lakh students studying in government schools of Udaipur Division will be given a personal accident insurance with up to 1 lakh. Officials of the Ministry of Education said that if the parent of a student dies in the accident, it will also be covered in insurance.

Officials say that at present, this scheme has been launched only for Udaipur division. Soon it will be launched across Rajasthan, which will benefit about 1 crore students.

The purpose of launching the scheme, not missing studies

The purpose of launching this scheme is to continue the students’ studies. Apart from this, its objective is to stop child labor, to do financial inclusion through Digital India, prevent misuse of insurance claim amounts and develop saving habit in children from a young age.

On the sudden death of parents through this scheme, students will be given scholarship till the age of 18 years.
