Action against terrorism and organized crime should be accelerated: Yadav

DGP Gaurav Yadav presided over the meeting of all Superintendents of Police (SPs), Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) and Station House Officers (SHOs) of border districts including Commissionerate Police Amritsar, Amritsar Rural, Batala and Tarn Taran.

He directed the officials to intensify action against terrorism, organized crime, drug trafficking and street crime. Asked to deal with such crimes in a professional manner and ensure prompt registration of FIRs in such cases. He urged the police officials to immediately act on the tips received through the newly launched Safe Punjab Anti-Drug Helpline 9779100200. People can anonymously report drug traffickers or trafficking on this helpline.

DGP also attended the banquet organized by Amritsar Commissionerate Police. Meanwhile, officers of all ranks got an opportunity to interact with the chief of the police force and share ideas.

After this, DGP Gaurav Yadav also visited Jalandhar and CP Jalandhar Swapan Sharma, DIG Jalandhar Range Naveen Singla, SSP Jalandhar Rural Harkamalpreet Singh Khakh, SSP Hoshiarpur Surinder Lamba, SSP Kapurthala Gaurav Tura and others to take stock of the law and order situation. Had a meeting with the officials and senior officials including SHOs of Jalandhar Commissionerate and Jalandhar Range. He appreciated the various techniques used by different districts to deal with crime, including crime mapping in Jalandhar city, use of relevant Indian Penal Code (BNS) sections for organized crime in Hoshiarpur district, Kapurthala district. .CTV including extensive use of and establishment of sub-divisional control rooms, focusing on professional policing in District Jalandhar rural.
