Taking action against illegal colonies in the district, two colonies were demolished today on the orders of Chief Administrator of Galada, Harpreet Singh. Chief Administrator Galada says that Galada is adopting a policy of zero tolerance towards unauthorized and unplanned development with special focus on illegal colonies. He said that a special campaign has also been launched to take strict action against those who bully people under the guise of giving cheap plots in these unauthorized colonies, which lack legal approval and follow government rules. Following the orders of Additional Chief Administrator Galada to demolish unauthorized colonies, along with duty magistrate, police force and enforcement team of Galada Regulatory Wing demolished the road of two unauthorized colonies in village Dhandra and other illegal constructions and structures in these places. was destroyed When the developers did not stop the illegal construction despite serving notices, a special team launched a demolition drive, which went on without opposition. Galada is planning more such campaigns in the coming weeks to stop the growth of illegal colonies at an early stage. The Chief Administrator appealed to the general public not to purchase property, plots and buildings in unauthorized colonies as Galada will not provide any facilities like water supply, sewage, electricity connection, street lights etc. Their approved maps are available on the official website of Galada, which can be checked by prospective buyers before purchasing any property. Besides, FIR against the developers of such colonies, concerned tehsildars for not registering the plots in the colonies, powercom for not providing electricity connection have also been recommended in advance.
