After Amitabh, Jaya Bachchan knocked on the door of Delhi High Court, demanding protection of personality rights.

New Delhi: As artificial intelligence and deepfake technologies are increasing, film stars are knocking at the doors of the court for their personality rights. After Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai, Jaya Bachchan approached Delhi High Court for her personality rights. Justice Manmeet Arora will hear his petition. Through the petition, Jaya Bachchan will get that legal protection, after which no one will be able to use her name, image, voice for commercial gain. Still, if someone generates video and voice through AI technology, he may get into legal trouble.

Before Jaya Bachchan, stars like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Amitabh Bachchan, Jackie Shroff, Anil Kapoor, Abhishek Bachchan, Kumar Sanu had moved the Delhi High Court to stop the misuse of their identities online, much of which is AI generated content. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had filed a petition in September 2025 demanding protection against commercial exploitation of her name, voice and image. This petition was against those fake websites which were fraudulently presenting themselves as their official platform and were selling products without permission using their images.

Amitabh-Abhishek also get relief from court
Abhishek Bachchan had filed a petition to protect his rights, through which the aim was also to stop AI-generated vulgar content. In the petition, he also demanded removal of wrong URLs and blocking of websites hosting illegal content. In 2023, Amitabh Bachchan had approached the Delhi High Court against the illegal use of his name, image and special voice. The court gave him interim relief and stopped the misuse of his personality and the violation of his rights.
