Indian women’s cricket team opener Pratika Rawal created history against New Zealand in the 24th match of the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 in Navi Mumbai. As Pratika hit a boundary off the second ball of the 10th over bowled by Sophie Devine, she completed her 1000 runs in the format. Pratika has played 23 innings for this and is joint first in the list of fastest batsmen to reach 1000 runs in Women’s ODIs.
Pratika achieved this milestone in just 304 days after her debut. He now holds the record for completing 1,000 ODI runs in the shortest time since his debut. The previous record was held by Laura Wollwardt, who achieved the feat in 734 days. Pratika made her debut on 22 December 2024. Laura Volwardt played her first match on 7 February 2016 and completed her 1,000 ODI runs on 10 February 2018.
