AIDS Day awareness event

An awareness camp regarding World AIDS Day was organized in the community health center of Manupur village. On this occasion, Health Officer Gurdeep Singh said that awareness is the most effective weapon to end AIDS. It is very important for the society, especially the new generation, to have information about AIDS. Arundeep Kaur and Jagdeep Singh also addressed on this occasion.

Sarpanch Gurmeet Singh, Jharmal Singh, Gurdayal Singh, Rajinder Singh, Kulveer Kaur, Rupinder Kaur and Nirmala Devi were present on this occasion. Similarly, AIDS Day was celebrated by Red Ribbon Club and NSS Unit in AS Group of Institutes. In the program Dr. Swaman Singh, Dr. Jaskaran Singh and Dr. Kamalpreet Singh Walia told the students about the early symptoms of AIDS and emphasized the importance of prevention from this disease. Director Dr. Harpreet Singh shared ideas with the students. Meanwhile, a poster making competition was held in the college for AIDS awareness in which Vrinda Sharma won the first place, Simranjit Kaur won the second place and Shahreen Kaur won the third place. Prof. Heena made the staff and students take an oath to stop discrimination against patients. President of the College Management Committee Vijay Diamond, Jitinder Devgan, Sanjeev Dhamija and Ramrish Vij appreciated the efforts of the college.

Oath-taking ceremony in GNKKW

Under the guidance of Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Red Ribbon Club of Guru Nanak Khalsa College for Women, Model Town, Ludhiana observed AIDS Day with an oath taking ceremony to create awareness about HIV/AIDS. During the event, students and staff took a pledge to end the stigma of HIV/AIDS, spread awareness about prevention measures and work to help those affected by the disease. Principal Dr. Manita Kahlon highlighted the importance of such initiatives to sensitize the youth about critical social and health issues. The event was conducted by the coordinator of the club. Nidhi Sharma and Daisy Wadhwa did.
