The Congress has today given a notice to bring a stop motion in the Lok Sabha to discuss the recent statements made by a sitting judge of the Allahabad High Court.
K Suresh, Congress Member of Parliament and Chief Whip of the party in the Lok Sabha, said, “I am hereby informing with the intention of seeking permission to move a motion to stop work for the purpose of discussing a very important issue.”
He said in the notice that objectionable and divisive views have been expressed towards minorities in the speech, which has caused widespread anxiety and anger in the entire country. He said that the judiciary is the custodian of the constitution and is expected to maintain impartiality and respect for all citizens irrespective of their religion or community. – IANS
