New Delhi. Poonam has been one of the top heroines of Dhillon. He started his career at the age of 16 with the film ‘Trishul’. It was a multistarrer film, in which big stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjeev Kumar and Shashi Kapoor worked. Recently, Poonam Dhillon said that she had flatly refused to wear a bikini for the shooting of the song Gapuchi Gapuchi Gum Gum.

Poonam further said, ‘Later Mrs. Yash Chopra told me that this stubborn girl, she threw a bikini directly and said that I will not wear it. I asked him if I did anything wrong? But he said that I was absolutely clear about my thoughts. Even after this, Poonam Dhillon was adamant on her decision not to wear bikini.
Heroine demands swimming costume
He said, ‘I have been swimmer since childhood and have swimming till the state level. I had no problem wearing swimming costumes, so I said that I will wear a swimming costume. I had no problem wearing shorts, because I used to do gymnastics in school, but suddenly it did not look right to wear such a small cloth. After a lot of conversation and refusal, he finally gave me a full piece costume.
How did Poonam Dhillon get the film?
Poonam Dhillon further said, ‘Yash Chopra’s wife Pam ji often told me that you were a little girl, but was very clear about her thoughts. I do not remember all this. I cannot even imagine that I have thrown something and said that I will not wear it. During the conversation, Poonam Dhillon also told that Yash Chopra had seen him during a beauty contest in Chandigarh and then gathered to cast him in his film.
Poonam Dhillon’s family was against acting
He said, ‘Yash Chopra ji saw me in Chandigarh. They had to convince me. He had seen my picture somewhere and maybe he liked him. He contacted me through some experts of my parents and offered the film, but my parents flatly refused. He said that no one goes to films in our family. My mother felt that our nose was cut. Poonam told that the parents allowed him to work in films, when he had confidence in him.
