Amritsar Dehat Police SSP Charanjit Singh said that on December 20, an incident of robbery of Rs 3,96,340 was carried out at the point of a revolver in HDFC Bank Nawan village, Jandiala. In this matter, a case was registered under 309 (2) BNS, 25 Arms Act on the complaint of HDFC Bank Manager under the leadership of SP Harinder Singh Gill, Chief Officer, Jandiala Police Station. After which the CIA staff and different teams of Jandiala Police Station took action, traced the criminals who committed the crime and arrested them.
Checked CCTV cameras – took support from technical team
To arrest the criminals, not only CCTV cameras were scanned, but support was also taken from the technical team. After which Lovepreet Singh resident of village Sarhali Khurd district Tarn Taran and Gurnoor Singh resident of village Kalla district Tarn Taran have been arrested. Rs 1 lakh in cash, a 32 bore revolver, five live cartridges, a Ford Figo vehicle and two mobile phones have been recovered from the possession of both the accused.
SSP said that during interrogation the accused have confessed to their crime. The police are investigating the case thoroughly, so that their other associates can also be traced. Besides, the previous criminal records of these two criminals are also being investigated.
The SSP said that the accused fulfilled their hobbies with the money looted from the bank and bought a horse, trolley and mobile phone. He had deposited some money in the bank to give the contract, which he has written to the bank asking it to be frozen. Lovepreet bought a mare worth Rs 1 lakh 20,000, while the other accused bought a trolley worth Rs 50,000, a phone worth Rs 20,000 and lent Rs 15,000 to someone. According to the police, all the money will be recovered from the accused.
