Anurag Mankhand, the winning candidate from Ward No. 22 here, has been appointed as the Executive President of Phagwara BJP Mandal-1 by the BJP High Command. District President Ranjit Singh Khojewal said that this decision has been taken after agreeing with Punjab BJP in-charge Vijay Rupani, Punjab BJP Organization Chief Minister Shri Nivaslu, former Union Minister Som Prakash and Vijay Sampla.
