In Amritsar, Punjab, the district administration has taken a unique initiative under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sahni. On his orders, Youth Internship Program has been started to make the graduate or recently graduated youth professionals. End of receipt of application forms

Giving more information, DC Sahni said that the objective of this initiative is to provide opportunities to the youth to work on various development and administrative projects so that the youth can contribute meaningfully to the progress of the district. The applicant should be a graduate (not more than one year) from any recognized university and the age of the applicant should be between 21 to 28 years as on January 1, 2025.

Training will be given for three months

Applicant should have knowledge of Data Analysis, Project Management, Communication skills, proficiency in Punjabi, Hindi and English, M.S. Knowledge of office equipment and social media is essential. These youth will prepare reports to assist in the design and implementation of government-run development and management projects, data collection and decision-making processes and will also conduct workshops, training sessions and community engagement activities.

DC Sahni said that in this way self-confidence will increase among the youth and they will also get practical experience of facing challenges. He said that after completing the three-month course, the youth will also be provided a certificate signed by the Deputy Commissioner and the process of selection of the youth will be completed in two phases.

The Deputy Commissioner said that during the preliminary screening, applicants will be short-listed based on the criteria and then they will be interviewed. No election allowance will be given for the election process and the decision of the district administration will be final. The district administration can also stop this program as per its wish.

He said applicants should be graduates in public policy, social sciences, engineering, environment, management, data analysis, law, media, health sciences and other subjects from recognized universities.
