In this regard, ASI Jatinder Singh said that police constable Manbir Singh and Punjab Home Guard jawan Gurwinder Singh, who were injured in the attack, have been admitted to Tarn Taran Civil Hospital, where their condition is stable. Jatinder Singh said that under his leadership, the police party went to arrest the villager Balwinder Singh Doni and his brother Gopal Singh Gopala in connection with the recovery of drugs four months ago. Apart from Balwinder Singh and Gopal Singh, Balwinder Singh Kalo’s wife, Manjit Singh Afridi, Baljit Singh Ghaduka, Jaswinder Kaur, Gopala’s wife Manpreet Kaur, Sonu, Sukha and about 12 others including Balwinder Singh’s sister-in-law. Unidentified persons attacked the police party with bricks and sticks. The police officer said that two employees of the police party were injured due to this attack. ASI Jatinder Singh said that a case has been registered under Section 109, 132, 221, 190 etc. of BNS in this regard. The police have started raids to arrest the accused.
