Australia defeat India women’s cricket: Australia won the ODI series

Helped by hundreds from Georgia Wall and Alice Perry, Australia beat India by 122 runs in the second women’s one-day international here today to take a 2-0 lead in the three-match series. The batsman, who was playing her second one-day match, managed to score her maiden century with a knock of 101 runs off just 87 balls, while Perry put pressure on the Indian bowlers with 105 runs off 75 balls.

Australia opted to bat first and scored 371 runs for eight wickets, which is their highest score against India. The team then wrapped up India’s innings for 249 runs in 45.5 overs and registered an easy victory. After the match, Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur said, “We managed to create some partnerships between us. We had a positive mindset in this match, but we fell behind.”

During the match, the pair of Phoebe Litchfield (60) and Wall gave Australia a brilliant start with a partnership of 130 runs. Wall then shared a 92-run partnership with Parry for the second wicket. After Wall’s arrival, Perry continued to bat aggressively and put on a 98-run partnership with Beth Mooney (56) to give the Indian bowlers no chance of a comeback. -News-Patiala
