Australia ready to deal with Abhishek Sharma in T20 series, captain Marsh makes strategy – News-Patiala Punjabi

Abhishek Sharma has created many records in his short T20 international cricket career. The emerging left-arm opener will be seen in action in the five-match T20I series against Australia from October 29. The first T20I will be played in Canberra. All eyes will be on Abhishek in the India vs Australia series. On the eve of the first T20I, Australian captain Mitchell Marsh referred to Abhishek’s recent performances and said his team wanted to challenge the ‘best players’.

“He (Abhishek) obviously sets the tone for them. He’s been fantastic for Sunrisers for a long time,” Mitchell Marsh said at a press conference on Tuesday. He’ll give us a good challenge… I think you want a challenge against the best players in the world. We know he is one of them. The Australian skipper himself has been in excellent form in the top order, scoring two centuries and two fifties in his last 10 innings. “I think like any other batsman, you want to contribute to winning matches for Australia,” Marsh said. “When I’m batting, that’s all I focus on. I’m not really thinking about being the captain.”

“I’m trying to build a good partnership with Heady or whoever I’m batting with. Hopefully that will continue. Preparations for the Ashes are in full swing,” Marsh said. Australia’s T20 team has seen many players moving in and out of the team. Leg-spinner Adam Zampa will miss the start of the series due to the birth of his second child. Josh Hazlewood will be out after the first two games, and Sean Abbott will be out after the third.

“We’ve had players come and go. But I think that’s the nature of the white-ball teams over the last few years because of their schedules and their busy schedules,” Mitchell Marsh said. Some players are coming back to play Shield cricket. Some are coming back from injury. So, I think flexibility is important. Everyone understands their role when they come into the team.
