Opposition leader Pratap Singh Bajwa today visited the farmers’ protest site at Khanuri border and inquired about the status of farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal, who was on a fast to death for the last 20 days. During the conversation with Dallewal, Bajwa assured that Congress stands firm with him on other demands of farmers including legal guarantee of MSP. Bajwa said, “We give all possible support to the farmers’ struggle. I appeal to the Punjab Congress workers to stand in solidarity with the farmers and contribute to the ongoing movement in all possible capacities. Together we will ensure that their voices are heard and their rights are protected. Their resolve is a symbol of the strength of our farming community and their righteous fight for justice.β Bajwa said, βIt has been almost 11 months since the farmers camped on the Shambhu and Khanuri borders. Due to the excesses of the Haryana police, more than 100 farmers were injured and the young farmer Shubhkaran Singh was martyred. In the end, the BJP government will have to bow down once again and accept the demands of the farmers, including legalizing the MSP.β
