On Friday, a private company bus (PB 11 DB- 6631) went out of control and fell into a drain in Talwandi Sabo of Bathinda district in Punjab. In which 8 people including the driver died, while more than 24 people were injured. A 2-year-old girl and her mother were also among those who died.

While sharing this information on social media, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said – Recently, a private bus met with an accident in Lasada Drain located on Talwandi Sabo Road, Bathinda. The Punjab government will provide an assistance amount of Rs 3 lakh each to the families of the passengers who lost their lives during the accident and the injured passengers will be provided complete treatment free of cost. Our government stands with the people of the state in every happiness and sorrow.

The Prime Minister had announced yesterday
After the incident, financial assistance was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi the previous day. According to the announcement, financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh is to be given to the families of the deceased and Rs 50 thousand to the injured from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund.
The driver was driving the bus at high speed
Bathinda DC Shaukat Ahmed Parre said that the passengers traveling in the bus said that the driver was driving the bus at high speed. Just then a big trolley came from the front. To avoid it, the bus took a turn, due to which this accident occurred.
The accident took place near Jeevan Singh Wala village. The bus was going from Sardulgarh towards Bathinda. There were about 50 people in the bus.
The village people had saved the bus riders
According to the police, the New Guru Kashi Transport bus was going towards Bathinda carrying passengers. Near Jeevan Singh Wala village, the bus suddenly went out of control and overturned in a drain. After this there was screaming among the people traveling in the bus. As soon as the information was received, nearby people reached the spot and took the stairs and evacuated the passengers from the bus. The local people had also informed the police about this.
