The last rites of those killed in the bus accident in Bathinda village Jeevan Singh Wala could not be performed for the second day on Sunday. The action committee’s protest at Talwandi Sabo government hospital continued on Sunday demanding compensation for the victims’ families.

The ongoing protest in the hospital ended in the evening after ADC Poonam Singh, who arrived from the administration in the afternoon, assured of free treatment of the injured and giving checks of assistance to the families of the deceased. On Friday, a private company bus coming from Sardulgarh to Bathinda fell into a drain after colliding with a trolley near village Jeevan Singh Wala.

Meera Fazilka, Amandeep Kaur (30) resident of Jeevan Singh Wala district Bathinda, Puneet Kaur (2), Paramjeet Kaur (25), Hukmawali, resident of Fatehabad, Haryana, Arjan Kumar (35), resident of Siripur, Bihar, had died. On Saturday, the families of those deceased from Jeevan Singh Wala, Haryana and Fazilka had refused to cremate the bodies.
