On Friday, a private company bus (PB 11 DB- 6631) went out of control and fell into a drain in Talwandi Sabo of Bathinda district in Punjab. In which 8 people including the driver died, while more than 24 people were injured. A 2-year-old girl and her mother are also among those who died.

A disabled person, who was a resident of Haryana, has also died. The deceased driver has been identified as Balkar Singh, a resident of Mansa. The injured have been admitted to the Civil Hospital.
The accident happened near Jeevan Singh Wala village. The bus was going from Sardulgarh towards Bathinda. There were about 50 people in the bus. After receiving information about the accident, the administration and NDRF team reached the spot and started rescue operations.
Bathinda DC Shaukat Ahmed Parre said that the passengers traveling in the bus said that the driver was driving the bus at high speed. Just then a big trolley came from the front. To avoid it, the bus took a turn, due to which this accident occurred.
On the other hand, financial assistance has been announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh will be given to the relatives of the deceased and Rs 50 thousand to the injured from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund.

As soon as the information was received, people from nearby reached the spot. He also informed the police about this.
Bathinda DC Shaukat Ahmed Parre and SSP Amneet Kaundal also reached the spot. Nearby villagers reached the spot using stairs. People were taken out through the stairs.
After this he was taken to Talwandi Sabo Hospital by ambulance. Here the doctors referred some people to the civil hospital after treatment. The bodies of the deceased have been kept in the mortuary.
The injured were first brought to Talwandi Sabo Hospital. After this, the doctors referred some people to Bathinda Civil Hospital after first aid.
DC said- everyone has been evacuated
DC Shaukat Ahmed Parre said that those who died on the spot include a child, 3 women and a man. Those who died in the hospital include two men and one woman. Apart from NDRF, Road Safety Force was also sent to the spot. The spot has been cleared by NDRF. I think everyone has been evacuated from there.
SSP Amneet Kaundal said that the injured told that the bus was at speed. It was raining. A trolley came from the front, due to which the driver could not control the bus. It is also learned that the driver has died. This accident happened due to negligence.
MLA Jagroop Singh Gill reached the hospital to meet the injured.
MLA said- 5 died on the spot AAP MLA Jagroop Singh Gill reached the hospital after receiving information about the accident. He said- ‘This incident is very sad. 5 people died on the spot, while 3 people died in the hospital. Orders have been given to the CMO for better treatment of those who have been injured. The injured and dead will be provided financial assistance by the government. DC will be talked to for this. We pray to God that all the injured get well soon.

On the accident, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said – ‘Sad news was received about an accident of a private bus in Lasada Drain located on Talwandi Sabo Road, Bathinda. I pray to God for peace of the departed souls and speedy recovery of the injured passengers.
