Police and family members present on the spot after the dead body was found from the canal
The body of a youth who went missing four days ago in Bathinda, Punjab, was recovered from a canal today. The police remained entangled in the border dispute for an hour, during which the family members reached the spot and identified the youth. The body has been sent for post-mortem.

Bathinda’s social service organization Sahara Jan Seva today received information that the body of a youth was lying in the canal near Govindpur. Sandeep Gill, a member of the organization, reached the spot with his team and got the body taken out from the canal. The police was informed by the team, but the police remained stuck in limbo for an hour. Sandeep Gill told that within a short time some people reached the spot and identified the body.
The deceased has been identified as 30-year-old Sukhdev, resident of village Sema police station Nathana. Sukhdev’s family members told that the young man had gone missing four days ago. The family members were continuously searching for him. At present, the police have taken the body into their custody and sent it for post-mortem.
