Electricity Board employees protesting during the gate rally in Bathinda

In Bathinda, Punjab today, Electricity Board employees took out a gate rally in front of Sirki Bazar Electricity Office and demonstrated against the state government. The protesters said that electricity board tax privatization will not be tolerated at all.

This gate rally was organized on the call of State Committee Electricity Employees Joint Forum. The protesting employees protested against the conversion of Chandigarh UT Electricity Board into a corporation and the sale of UP Electricity Corporation to private hands.

The employees participating in the gate rally demanded that the sale of government institutions should be stopped and permanent recruitment should be started. The leaders supported the farmers’ struggle and also supported those who are on teachers’ strike in Sangrur, whose institutions have been privatized. Saurabh Sathi, Arun Kumar Tripathi, Ajaib Singh Sohal, Hardeep Singh, Sita Ram, Durga Dutt, Bhim Sen, Ajay Singh etc. were among the protesters.
