Amritpal, accused of taking bribe.
Punjab Vigilance Bureau has caught an employee taking bribe of Rs 35 thousand in Bathinda as part of anti-corruption campaign in the state. The accused has been identified as Amritpal alias Kaddu, resident of Maur. Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSP)

According to the Vigilance Bureau, the online complaint lodged by Bhola Singh, resident of Ubha village of Mansa, became the basis for this arrest. During investigation, it came to light that Amritpal, claiming himself to be a contractor of PSPCL, had taken a bribe of Rs 35,000 in exchange for getting the tube well connection installed. Apart from this, he had demanded another Rs 20,000 for this.
Amritpal has been arrested after registering a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act in Vigilance Bureau Police Station Range, Bathinda. The spokesperson further said that the accused will be produced in the court tomorrow and further investigation into the matter is underway.
