Camels recovered in animal smuggling case were sent to Rajasthan

Bathinda Police in Punjab has today sent 12 camels, which were smuggled a month ago, to Mahavir Camel Sanctuary in Rajasthan after a court order.

SHO of Canal Police Station Harjeevan Singh said that a month ago Shiv Joshi had registered a case in the police post. 12 camels were being smuggled in a canter and the condition of many camels was critical. On the complaint of Shiv Joshi, the police recovered 12 camels from a canter, which were kept and taken care of in a cow shed in Bathinda. But the police and the cowshed manager faced major problems in the maintenance of the camels.

Sent to Rajasthan in three trucks

Following the court order and instructions of senior police officers, today these 12 camels were transported to Mahavir Camel Sanctuary in Rajasthan through three different trucks. Along with sending these camels to Rajasthan, the administration deployed a team of the Veterinary Department, under whose supervision these 12 camels were sent to Rajasthan. In this case, the case regarding animal cruelty is pending in the court.
