New Delhi, January 16
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has issued a 10-point decree to ensure discipline and unity in the national team under which participation in domestic matches is mandatory for cricketers in the national team, but may be exempted in exceptional circumstances. These include banning the presence of personal staff and families during players’ tours. Under the new policy, individual photo shoots of players during the current series or tour have also been banned. The BCCI has expected all players to strictly follow the guidelines. Disciplinary action will be taken if the rules are not followed. It may be mentioned that the BCCI has been strict on such occasions when India had to face defeat due to poor performance in the Test series against New Zealand and Australia and due to this the senior players were widely criticized. -News-Patiala
