BCCI rebuked the umpire who dismissed Yashasvi, Rajeev Shukla raised his voice

Indian cricket team’s opener Yashaswi Jaiswal was dismissed by the third umpire in the second innings of the Melbourne Test match. There was a ruckus after Bangladesh umpire Sharfudullah gave out. BCCI Vice President Rajiv Shukla has openly opposed this decision. He warned the third umpire to pay attention and called the decision wrong.

Yashshvi Jaiswal had to return after being dismissed for 84 runs in the second innings of the Boxing Day Test. Alex Carey made a strong appeal with Pat Cummins caught behind the wicket. The field umpire ruled it out and the captain called for a review. The third umpire saw Yashaswi’s shot repeatedly and declared him out. However, the Sunico meter, a machine that captures sound, had no movement of any kind.

Rajeev Shukla’s reaction

BCCI vice president Rajeev Shukla tweeted on X, “Yashshwi Jaiswal was clearly not out. The third umpire should have paid attention to what the technique was indicating. When the third umpire overturns the decision of the field umpire, they should have good reasons.”
