Whatsapp Update: The new beta version of WhatsApp Android app has now brought a big change for some selected users. According to the report, WhatsApp is rolling out for testing two new features named ‘Status Ads’ and ‘Proted Channels’ in its latest beta version. These are the same features that META announced on 17 June.
Sponsored advertisements will now be seen in status
According to a report by WABETAINFO, Whatsapp beta version 2.25.21.11 has been released for some beta testers which includes both new features. First of all, talk about Status Ads, now business account users will be able to show their products or services related posts in WhatsApp status section.

These advertisements will be seen in the midst of common status but they will have a label of “sponsored” so that the users can identify it. It has also been told in the report that if a user does not want to see an advertisement again and again, then he can also block that advertiser.
Promoted channels will increase the scope of visibility
The second feature is Promoted Channels, which will help in spreading public channels to more people. When a business or creator promotes his channel, he will be seen highlight in Whatsapp’s channel directory. This will make his reach and followers more likely to grow. These promoted channels will also have a “sponsored” tag so that the users can know that it is shown under the promotion.
No effect on privacy
Whatsapp has made it clear that these new features will not affect the privacy of users. All data will be safe and advertisements will be seen only by users who interact with business or channels.
Advance report feature also available
In addition, WhatsApp has also introduced another new tool in the beta version 2.25.19.15, which allows users to download the detail reports of advertisements seen by them. In this, information like advertiser’s name, date of appearance appearance will be available. Overall, WhatsApp is now making its platform even better for business promotion, while users are also going to get a new experience from these changes.
