Junior Teacher Salary Hike : The new year has brought joy to the junior teachers of Odisha. In the first month of the year 2025 itself, Odisha government has taken a big decision regarding government teachers. The Mohan Charan Majhi government of Odisha has increased the monthly salary of junior teachers working at primary and upper primary levels in the state. On Friday, the salary of junior teachers in the state was increased from Rs 11,000 to Rs 16,000. A statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office said that this increase will benefit around 13,740 teachers across the state. The proposal has been approved by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, which will incur an additional expenditure of Rs 89.15 crore on the exchequer.

There will be an increase in EPF too…
Along with this decision, the Odisha government has also increased its contribution to the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF). Now the state will contribute Rs 1,950 per month to EPF for each junior teacher, up from Rs 1,443 earlier. Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said the decision is part of the government’s efforts to improve the socio-economic status of teachers in the state. He also said that his government is fully committed to improving the welfare of teachers.

Let us tell you that before January 26, 13,740 junior teachers of the state will get big news in the form of salary. Earlier, these junior teachers used to get a monthly salary of Rs 11,000. Now the state government has been kind to him and increased his salary by Rs 5,000, making his new salary Rs 16,000 per month. At the same time, the government has given them double happiness, as their EPF has also increased.
