Bone-chilling cold continues in Kashmir valley. The Meteorological Department said that the minimum temperature was recorded at minus 7.3 degrees Celsius in Srinagar last night. A day before this it was minus 6.6 degrees Celsius. In Kashmir, the minimum temperature may drop by two to three degrees in the next two days. Except for Gulmarg, all the other areas of Kashmir Valley recorded a sharp fall in the night temperature.
The Meteorological Department said that the temperature in Gulmarg was recorded at minus 6.6 degrees Celsius, while last night it was 7.4 degrees Celsius. Similarly, Pahalgam recorded a minimum temperature of minus 8.4 degrees Celsius and Qazigund 6.6 degrees Celsius. Konibal in Pampore region was the coldest place, registering minus 9.5 degrees Celsius. North Kashmir’s Kupwara recorded a minimum temperature of minus 6.4, while South Kashmir’s Kokarnag recorded 5.4 degrees Celsius. -News-Patiala

226 roads including three national highways closed due to snowfall in Himachal

Shimla: A total of 226 roads, including three national highways, have been closed due to snowfall in many districts of Himachal Pradesh. According to the information, the highest snowfall of 10 cm was recorded in Jot during the last 24 hours. After this, 5 cm of snow fell in Khadrala, 2 cm in Pooh and 1.2 cm in Sangla. Tabo in Lahaul and Spiti district was the coldest region in Himachal Pradesh, where the night temperature was recorded at minus 10.6 degrees Celsius.
