Google Street View: A person from Argentina faced a lot of embarrassment when the Google Street View car captured her completely nude picture in the backyard of her house. This incident is from the year 2017, when the person was in his private campus and around it was 6 feet 6 inches high wall.
Police officer made a joking character
That person is a police officer by profession. He told in court that after this incident, he had to face embarrassment in his office and in the locality. According to the report of CBS News, not only his naked body was clearly visible in the picture, but Google did not blur his house number and street’s name which revealed his identity.

Case filed in 2019
The victim initiated legal action against Google in 2019, but the lower court dismissed the case, saying that the person was out in ‘unfair state’. However, now an appellate court overturned the decision and convicted Google and ordered a compensation of Rs 10.8 lakh (US $ 12,500).
Cleaning Google and strict answer to court
It was argued by Google that the height of the wall was not sufficient. But the court denied this argument, saying, “This picture is not taken from within the boundary of someone’s house but from within the walls. It is clearly a violation of privacy.”
Court verdict
The court, while giving compensation, said, “No person wants to come in front of the world in the same condition as it was at birth.” The court questioned Google’s negligence, calling the incident serious.
According to Google’s street view policy, he automatically blur the number plate of faces and vehicles so that no one is revealed. But in this case not only the whole body of the person was clearly visible, but all the information related to identity was also openly in front.
Google’s website says that if anyone wants his entire house, vehicle or body blur, he can request through the ‘Report a Problem’ tool. Despite this, no precautions were taken in this matter.
