Vancouver, December 24
The Immigration Department of Canada, understanding the problem of the residents, has ended the condition of entry (Flagopol) back to Canada from the American border for renewal of work and study permits from today. Now these permits can be renewed or extended while sitting at home, but the application for that has to be submitted long before the expiry so that the applicant gets the permit on time and his work or studies are not damaged.
According to the Immigration Department, due to this process going on for decades, the crowd at the border was increasing and the applicants had to suffer unnecessary hardship. The department has clarified that from December 24, a person with such a need will not need a flagpole and he can submit an online application while sitting at home. The department has advised the applicants that they can fill the application sitting at home a few days before the last date by preparing the necessary documents in advance. He said that the forms have been made very easy so that the applicants do not have to get in the hassle of consultants (agents). It should be mentioned that until now, for these works, it was necessary to go to a crossing of the American border and first fill a form from the American Post across the border, which was called a flagpole, and based on that form, the Canada Border Service at the time of entry into Canada. Permits were issued (renewed) by agency (CBSA) staff. This hassle was the source of income for the consultants.
