Canada News: Ontario Premier Doug Ford has outlined a proposal to counter US President-elect Donald Trump’s threat of tariff hikes. Since then, the development of energy security of the two countries has been claimed to be the basis of the strengthening of bilateral relations.
Ford expressed confidence that once the proposal is implemented in this form, it can become a document of bilateral stability, security as well as long-term prosperity. Doug Ford, who is considered to be stubborn in making government decisions, called Trump’s latest statement about making Canada the 51st state of America ridiculous, saying that Canada is not a country for sale and will never be.
He said that Trump should not be confused. Threats of using economic power can only work against countries with foreign dependencies, but Canada, rich in natural resources and minerals, cannot bow to any unreasonable threats. The chief minister of the province, which accounts for 39% of Canada’s economy and has the highest per capita income in the country, has said they will continue to work together to strike back the threats and strike a better trade deal.
Today, Doug Ford has talked to the heads of some other states and discussed how to deal with Trump’s threats. Everyone has asked him to take concrete steps in the front. It is also known that he has been given decision-making powers by the northern states that produce large hydropower.
It is noteworthy that Trump’s offer to make Canada the 51st state of the United States to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who went to congratulate him after his election, repeated the same thing again this week. From the get-go, it is unclear what Trump intends to do and whether he is losing his respect by saying such things.
Today, Trump has also threatened Hamas to release the detained people or be ready to be killed. Most people did not pay attention to Trump’s statement about Ukraine.
Doug Ford escaped unharmed in a road accident
Ontario Chief Minister Doug Ford’s car sustained some injuries during the accident but escaped injury. His secretary and security personnel were also riding in the car with Ford. They had just left the nuclear plant located on Highway 401 and got on the main road when another car coming from behind hit their car.
Ford, who reached the office after the incident, said, “The bus survived.”
He said, “There is pain due to the injuries, but all the passengers escaped from injuries. The collision car went out of control and rammed into another vehicle on the other side of the road. The driver of that car was seriously injured.” They prayed for his recovery.
