55 thousand workers of Canada Post (Postal Department), who went on strike for the last one month, will return to work from 8 am on Tuesday. The Crown corporation said workers will return to work on Tuesday following the intervention of the Canada Industrial Relations Board after ongoing reconciliation talks between striking employees and Canada Post stalled. Canada Post said that after a hearing on Saturday, the Canada Industrial Relations Board ruled in favor of the suggestion made by Union Labor Minister Steven McKinnon. MacKinnon had said the Canadian Crown Corporation and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers were both out of place, with the prospects of an agreement dimmed by the end of the year, which would see workers return to work. Due to the strike, the people who are facing the problem of not reaching their essential documents have breathed a sigh of relief after hearing about the resumption of the postal service. Due to the Canada Post strike, the burden on the courier companies increased so much that they were also forced to cut some services. Their workers are having to work overtime even if they don’t want to.
