Pupul Rampal, a resident of Sector-8, Panchkula, lodged a complaint with the Chandigarh Police saying that she was cheated of Rs 31 lakh in the name of property sale. In this case, Police Station-34 has registered a case against Chandigarh resident Neeraj Bhanot and started investigation.

Complainant Pupul Rampal told in the complaint given to the police that Neeraj Bhanot, who is a resident of EC-46/C, Chandigarh, took Rs 31 lakh from Pupul on the pretext of selling the property. Neeraj had assured that he would provide the property at an excellent location, but after taking the money, he neither completed the property deal nor returned the money.
When the complainant asked Neeraj Bhanot several times for information about the status of the property deal, he started making excuses. When the situation seemed suspicious, Pupul Rampal informed the police.
Acting on the complaint, Police Station-34 has registered a case against Neeraj Bhanot under IPC section. Police said that detailed investigation of the case is going on and the accused will be arrested soon.
