Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Wednesday paid obeisance at Gurdwara Sri Babhor Sahib located near Nangal in district Rupnagar and sought God’s blessings to serve the people of the state with dedication. According to the information given in an official statement, the Chief Minister said that he considers himself lucky that he got the opportunity to serve the people of the state and the purpose of coming here is to thank God for providing this service. On this occasion, the Chief Minister’s wife Dr. Gurpreet Kaur was also with him.
Gurdwara Sri Babhore Sahib or Sri Bibhore Sahib is dedicated to the memory of Dasmesh Pita Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji and is located on the banks of the Sutlej. Guru Sahib stayed here for several months and he recited the hymn ‘Chaupai Sahib’ here.
Bhagwant Singh Mann reiterated his firm commitment to fulfill the expectations of all sections of the society as well as ensure all-round development, peace and brotherhood. He prayed for the progress, development and prosperity of the people of the state. According to the statement, he prayed to God to give him strength to serve the people of the state with full dedication.
He bowed down at the Gurdwara Sahib and reiterated his government’s firm commitment to serve the people of the state without discrimination of caste, colour, race and religion for the creation of a harmonious society. Mr. Mann said that the principles of love, brotherhood and harmony in the society as taught by the great Gurus will be upheld at all costs and will always be the first priority of the state government.
