China New Weapon: The picture of war in the world is changing rapidly. While the traditional war still rests on missiles, tanks and drones, a new and dangerous front is emerging electronic warfare. There are neither bomb blasts nor the sound of bullets, but the forces of the enemy can end quietly.
What is electronic warfare?
In this modern war, weapons like Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) and High-Power Microwave (HPM) are used. They can directly target the enemy’s electronic system and close them. Now the most advanced form of this technique is Cognitive Electronic Warfare (CEW). In this, radar is blocked with the help of artificial intelligence, signals are blocked and can be dropped from the sky till the enemy drones.
China’s lead and America’s concern
According to a 2018 report, the US is at least a decade behind rivals like China in Electronic Warfare. A report sent to the US Congress in November 2024 also said that China’s People’s Liberation Army has developed advanced technology that can “detect, target and discharge” the American system.
Not only governments, terrorists are also active
The danger is not limited to countries only. Rebel and terrorist organizations are also trying to acquire these techniques. They are easier to use than traditional weapons. For example, an EMP weapon can be hidden in a truck or container and placed near the city or military base and it can stop the entire system without any explosion.
Hidden weapons are becoming a new threat
Now it has become easy to hide weapons. Britain recently showed the Gravehawk Missile System which can be hidden in the normal shipping container. Similarly, EMP or HPM system can also be hidden in trucks or containers. It can destroy big cities or base in one stroke without leaving debris.
