China Microdrone: China has developed a micro drone that is small like a mosquito in size and can completely change the manner of war. This was revealed in a report of ‘South China Morning Post’. The drone has been prepared by a robotics lab of the National University of Defense Technology (NUDT) in Hunan province, China. This state-of-the-art micro drone was recently shown on CCTV-7 (Military Channel of China). During the show, Liang Hasiang, a student of NUDT, held this small drone in his hand and told that the bionic robot resembles mosquito and is especially designed for espionage and confidential military operations.
Mosquito as much drone
The Chinese military unveils a tiny drone the size of a mosquito.
The creators believe such a drone is nearly impossible to detect, making it ideal for reconnaissance. A compact handheld device is all that’s needed for control.

The texture of this drone has two small wings that look like leaves, as well as three extremely thin legs. Its length is about 1.3 cm, that is, it is as small as a normal mosquito. It can be controlled with a smartphone.
Where can it be used?
Such micro drones can prove to be revolutionary, especially in intelligence campaigns, because it is not easily visible due to being very small in size. It can also be used to find people trapped in debris after disaster. Environmental figures like air or water quality can also be collected from the sensor installed in it.
What are the challenges?
However, there are some limitations with this technique. Due to the small size, this drone cannot lift a lot of weight, allowing a limited number of sensors or equipment to be installed in it. Also, its battery life is also relatively low. Nevertheless, due to the rapid development in the field of battery technology, sensors and artificial intelligence, such drones can be more capable in future.
