England all -rounder Chris Woakes has revealed his conversation with Rishabh Pant. Vox told in an interview to The Guardian that he had apologized to Rishabh Pant for fracture in his toe off his ball during the Test series, after which he was greatly impressed by the generosity of his Indian rival.
Both Vokes and Pant descended for batting despite serious injuries during the series and became a symbol of courage for their teams. While Pant batted despite his broken thumb in Manchester, Vox landed at the crease despite slipping shoulder bone during the fifth Test.
Pant was injured in the 68th over on the first day of the fifth Test in Manchester on 23 July. On Chris Woakes’s yorker, Pant tried to reverse sweep, but the ball hit his bat and went on the shoes. After this he had to retire. However, when needed, Pant batted lame and scored 54 runs. The match was left on par.
Vox said-
I noticed that Rishabh (Pant) had put a picture of me with a salute emoji on Instagram, so I replied thanked him that thank you for love and hope that the leg will be fine.
Vox said-
Then Pant sent me a voice note, in which- hope everything will be fine, best wishes for recovering and hope that we will meet again on the field someday. After that I apologized for the broken leg.
Gill told me- you showed incredible bravery Vox also said that he was appreciated by Indian captain Shubman Gill on coming to bat in the fifth Test. Vokes did not get a chance to face a single ball but he said that it was difficult to run between the wickets. Vox said, “Shubman said that it was an incredible bravery.”

Vox told- ‘I told Gill that you played an incredible series, showed a brilliant game and your team is credited with it. Players of both teams performed well in this series and they deserve congratulations for such a performance. Of course, both teams wanted to win, but it seems appropriate that the series was drawn.
Pant out of 5th Test due to injury, Vox got injured Rishabh Pant was eliminated from the 5th Test of the series due to fracture in the toes. However, the Indian team won the last match at the Oval by 6 runs to equal the series 2–2 by winning the last match at the Oval by 6 wickets by Mohammad Siraj (9 wickets) and the famous Krishna (8 wickets). Chris Woakes was also injured on the first day of this match. His shoulder became disliked in an attempt to stop a ball at the boundary.
