Punjab Weather: After the snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir, mild cold has started in the plains of Punjab and Chandigarh. A slight drop of about 0.2 degrees has been recorded in the minimum temperature. Apart from Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh has also issued an alert regarding snowfall and rain today. There may be snowfall in the middle and upper regions. After which it is being estimated that the mercury will fall by 2 to 3 degrees in the coming week.
According to the Meteorological Department, although a slight drop has been recorded in the minimum temperature, still the minimum temperature in Punjab remains 2.9 degrees above normal. While the temperature in Chandigarh remained 1 degree lower than normal. The weather department says that the weather will remain dry in Punjab-Chandigarh for the next 7 days and there is no chance of rain.
The winds of Punjab-Haryana increased the pollution in Chandigarh
Due to the winds coming from Punjab and Haryana, it is becoming difficult to breathe in the capitals of both the states. Air quality index here is 5 times higher than normal. The pollution level in Sector 53 has reached 289. While AQI is 239 in Sector 22 and 212 in Sector 25.
Pollution has improved significantly in the cities of Punjab. Here in Bathinda and Rupnagar the AQI is less than 100 at 56 and 95 respectively. While the most polluted city here is Mandi-Gobindgarh, where the AQI has reached 211.
