The 53rd death anniversary of Lieutenant Jasmail Singh Khokhar, a martyr of the Indo-Pak war of 1971, was celebrated by the Khokhar family at his martyrdom memorial in Siriewala village. On this occasion, after the Bhog of Sri Sahaj Path Sahib, Ragi Jatha performed Gurbani Kirtan. The old companions of the martyr, the elders of the village and the assembled people paid tribute to him. Namdar Darshan Singh Siriewala told about the life of Shaheed Khokhar that during the 1971 war, he was martyred in Khulna sector (Bangladesh) while showing bravery. Earlier, Shaheed’s brother retired wing commander Jaswant Singh Khokhar and nephew Yadwinder Singh Khokhar (Asia record holder) organized a camp in the government high school of the village to recruit the army and UAV. Gave information to the children about becoming a pilot. Sukhcharan Singh Nikka Brar showered flowers on the occasion through a para-glider. Prominent personalities were honored by the management. Numdar Darshan Singh thanked the people who had arrived. Colonel Savinder Singh, Jagtar Singh Khokhar, Jashnpreet Singh, Navdeep Singh, Principal Vijay Kumar and School Committee President Lachman Singh were present on this occasion.
