Leader of Opposition in Punjab Vidhan Sabha Pratap Singh Bajwa has strongly condemned the BJP-led Haryana government for lathi-charge and firing tear gas shells on farmers who were peacefully marching towards Delhi. Marjivada Jatha of 101 farmers of Punjab today started a foot march towards Delhi to pressurize the BJP-led central government for legalization of minimum support price (MSP) and other demands. In the meantime, they faced lathicharge from the Haryana Police at the Shambhu border.

Haryana government has deployed heavy police at all critical places since yesterday. Tear gas shells have been fired at the farmers who started marching towards Delhi. Bajwa said that many farmers have been injured in this action of the Haryana Police. Congress leader Bajwa said that following the footsteps of the previous Khattar government, the Naib Singh Saini-led Haryana government is bent on suppressing the peaceful protest of farmers, which is an undemocratic move.

He said that the Haryana government should understand that farmers are not protesting in their state. They are using Haryana as a route to reach Delhi. Bajwa said that everyone is wondering why the Haryana government is troubled by this. He said that what the dictatorial BJP government of Haryana did is very unfortunate and condemnable.
